Star jasmine is a beautiful flowering vine that offers sweetly fragrant white flowers in late spring and summer. Its shiny, dark green leaves are a wonderful accent to the blooms and provide good garden interest, even when star jasmine is out of bloom. If you have areas where there's nothing to climb, star jasmine can also be grown as a lovely weed-smothering groundcover. In cold-winter areas, this plant is often grown as an annual; it can be brought indoors for the winter and kept in a warm, sunny window.Because star jasmine is fast growing, it's an excellent choice for creating privacy, covering a fence, or adding a beautiful backdrop to the garden.

Star jasmine grows in sun or shade. It puts on more growth, and produces more flowers in the sun, however.Water star jasmine regularly to keep it happy. Once established, it's quite drought resistant and is remarkably easy to maintain.
Fertilize star jasmine once or twice a year in spring or summer. Use a regular garden fertilizer; you don't need anything special for this easy plant.
Prune star jasmine anytime it grows out of bounds.
Star jasmine is not recommended for human or animal consumption. Rather, enjoy the scent of its fragrant flowers and look of the shiny green leaves.
