Nemesia (Nemesia fruticans)

Nemesia Plant Features

Fragrant flowers in an Easter-egg assortment of colors make nemesia a must-have annual for baskets, window boxes, and containers. Nemesia prefers cool weather so you can enjoy its flowers in the early spring or fall when heat-loving flowers are not in bloom. In regions with cool, mild winters, nemesia will flower all winter long. Although nemesia is a sun-lover, it will die when things heat up in mid-summer. Hummingbirds and butterflies looking for a spring banquet will thank you for including nemesia in your garden. Nemesia grows 12 to 18 inches tall.

Nemesia Growing Instructions

Plant nemesia in a sunny spot with rich, well drained soil. You plant them by themselves in beds and borders or add them to a mixed container packed with other early-bird flowers. Water whenever the surface of the soil begins to dry. The plants will suffer when the weather gets hot so pull and replace them with heat-loving annuals to keep the color show going.

Nemesia is not recommended for human or animal consumption.
